Gynaecologist (Locum)

Location: Various NHS Trusts across the UK

 

We are currently seeking a Locum Specialist Registrar (SPR) to cover multiple specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Urology for NHS Trusts across various locations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SPR to join dynamic teams, gain valuable experience, and provide high-quality patient care on a flexible locum basis.

As a Locum SPR, you will support consultants in providing comprehensive medical care, including inpatient and outpatient management across the specialties of General SurgeryOrthopedicsENT, and Urology. You will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, assisting with the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients while ensuring the delivery of excellent clinical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of consultants to manage patients in General SurgeryOrthopedicsENT, and Urology.
  • Assist with preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Participate in ward rounds, providing comprehensive patient management.
  • Assist in surgical procedures as part of your training and development, depending on experience.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Participate in on-call rotas as required by the Trust.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide mentorship and support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NHS policies.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS safety and quality standards.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • MRCS or equivalent surgical qualification.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience at the Specialist Registrar (SPR) level.
  • Experience in General SurgeryOrthopedicsENT, and Urology at an SPR level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of Foundation Year 1 and 2 (or equivalent) completion.
  • Valid Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Experience of working in NHS environments is desirable but not mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • FRCS or equivalent qualifications in one or more of the specialties.
  • Additional subspecialty training or experience in OrthopedicsENT, or Urology.
  • Previous locum experience with an agency is an advantage.
